This type of hosting service is usually geared toward large websites with massive amounts of traffic that require the highest level of performance in web hosting. Dedicated hosting is more expensive than any other type of web hosting, but is also faster, safer, and more reliable.
With a dedicated hosting account, the client leases an entire server from a hosting company. Most hosting companies offer several different dedicated hosting plans. These plans range in price and usually differ in the specifications of the server that is being leased.  The more powerful the server, the more expensive the plan. Plans can also range in price according to the amount of hard disk space, bandwidth, and IP addresses that are allowed. When looking to lease a dedicated hosting plan, it is advisable to carefully calculate the correct amount of server resources your website will need.
A dedicated hosting plan is much safer and more flexible compared to other types of web hosting plans because the entire server is being leased to just one client. The server being leased is usually housed in a data center owned and operated by the web hosting company. The client typically has full control over their leased server’s operating system and is free to install new applications/platforms or even make modifications to services such as PHP and Apache.
